MARY O'WILLIAMS, Principal As a graduate of Boston University, I completed a Masters of Science in Accounting degree from the State University of New York at Albany. My public accounting training was at Meahl, McNamara & Co./Deloitte Touche in Boston where I did mutual fund company financial statement audits. I was certified in public accounting in Massachusetts in 1985 and moved the firm into the area of accounting systems design for retirement plans. My work was instrumental in the firm's ability to start a Management Advisory Services Department and I was appointed the first Manager of the MAS Department. During the late 80's, when my son was a teenager, I wanted to be closer to him and so I ventured to start an accounting software company in Newburyport that successfully developed and installed retirement plan accounting systems for a major Boston hospital. That entreprenurial experience gave me insight into the challenges facing small businesses and individuals and inspired me to start a CPA practice in 1991. Over the years as my small business clients grew, I found that in addition to accounting and tax planning services, they needed financial planning services to help them to achieve their personal financial goals. In 2000 I became certified as a financial planner. Today, I work to empower my clients to use management techniques and technology to reduce costs and maximize financial resources. LEO O'WILLIAMS, Accountant's Assistant I started working with MOW after school when I was in high school. She trained me to assist her with various small business accounting projects using Excel spreadsheets and QuickBooks Pro. Over the years I have gained experience with various write up systems. We currently use the Creative Solutions Write-up Solution. During the tax seasons, I have received extensive training and experience by assisting in the preparation of the tax return files for review. We currently use Creative Solutions UltraTax to prepare tax returns. I've been an accounting and tax assistant for nine years now. I set up and ongoingly maintain the computer network, and continually work on improving our systems and keeping the office up-to-date with the latest accounting systems and internet technologies.
